CM threatens long march
LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that the Ali Baba and 40-thieves of Islamabad were trying to flee but they would not be given the opportunity. He was addressing a public gathering at Wazirabad, on Friday.
He said that Zardari claims that trial of Benazir Bhutto murder was being conducted but the fact is that he wants to hide his looted money behind ‘this grave.’ He said that instead of saving one person, the prime minister should think about the 180 million people of the country and choose between thieves and the honest people. Shahbaz Sharif asked the prime minister to write letters to the Swiss courts, or come clear about whether he supports dacoits or the masses, adding that the nation would hold a long march if that was not done.
The CM further said that it was an open secret that the President House was behind all the corruption happening in the country; however every effort will be made for recovering ill-gotten wealth from the plunderers. He said that the money stashed in Switzerland will be brought back and spent on the welfare of the masses.
Shahbaz Sharif said that a new-born leader was talking about brining a revolution despite the fact that he supported a dictator who carried out bloodbath of innocent students in the Lal Masjid and now the dictator’s team had also joined him.
Shahbaz Sharif told the public that conspiracies were being hatched in the presidency against the Punjab government for the last four years, adding that the deadly outbreak of dengue and the floods were all used against the province and its people, while the imposition of Governor’s rule in 2009 was also part of the same plot.
The CM assured that the Punjab government will not be deterred by such tactics and serve the masses as far as possible through optimal utilisation of its funds and he is personally visiting every nook and corner of the province to uphold the rights of the deserving. He said that hard working students were being given laptops and the revolutionary policies of Punjab government were changing the destiny of the youth. He added that the self-employment scheme will bring about a new revolution in the province.
The CM further said that the people were still suffering from the disastrous consequences of the loot of national resources during last 64 years and the process is still continuing. He said that the nation will not forgive those who robbed national exchequer and deposited this money in Switzerland and they will be held accountable for every penny. He said that development projects are being executed expeditiously and Wazirabad Institute of Cardiology will also start working this year.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated admin block of Maulana Zafar Ali Khan College Wazirabad and attended a briefing regarding ongoing development projects in the city.
Earlier, upon his arrival in Wazirabad, the Chief Minister was received by Member Assembly Khurram Dastgir, Justice ® Iftikhar Ahmed Cheema, Mehmood Bashir Virk, Manzoor Cheema, Saeed Mughal, District President Muslim League-N Mustansar Gondal and a large number of people. Special Assistant Syed Zaeem Hussain Qadri also accompanied the Chief Minister.
